Scope
The focus of the call extends across a broad spectrum of topics, including carbon-free energy solutions, green mobility, smart cities, sustainable housing and bioresource management. By supporting innovation in these areas, the programme seeks to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable energy future.
Key target themes include:
- Renewable Energy, Hydrogen & Carbon Management – Offshore wind turbines, bioenergy, solar panels, fuel cells power-to-X, energy storage, energy efficiency solutions, hydrogen economy (fuel cells, production, storage, station), CO₂ capture, sequestration and utilisation, grid integration & stability.
- Smart & Sustainable Infrastructure – Green and zero-emission buildings, smart cities, heating, IT solutions in buildings, smart monitoring, 3D construction, digital twins, electric vehicles (EVs) & charging infrastructure, microgrids, decentralized energy systems.
- Digital & Intelligent Energy Systems – AI, IoT, big data, 5G/6G, smart grids, micro-grid, e-mobility, IT & OT cybersecurity, blockchain for energy transactions.
- Environmental & Industrial Monitoring – Bioresource monitoring, drone/satellite monitoring, industrial robots, sensors, edge computing, Raman spectrometry, AI, big data, virtual power plants.
Eligibility
- The call is open to companies of all sizes, universities and research organisations.
- Projects must involve international cooperation with at least two independent legal entities from two or more Eureka countries (Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Türkiye, UK).
- Project must focus on civilian applications with clear commercialisation goals.
- No single organisation or country can be responsible for more than 70% of the project budget.
UK specific eligibility criteria:
- UK applicants can apply for total grant of up to £500,000 for each project.
- Your project is expected to last between 12 to 36 months.
- To be eligible for grant funding from Innovate UK, your collaboration must include:
- at least one grant claiming UK registered business
- at least one other eligible partner from the Eureka countries participating in the competition
Funding Rates
Total pot: £4.000.000. Funding is available for eligible project costs at the following rates:

Large | 50% |
UK research organisations can share up to 30% of the UK total eligible business costs, with funding rates of:
- 80% of full economic costs (FEC) for Je-S registered academic institutions.
- 100% of eligible project costs for RTOs, charities, non-profits and public sector bodies
If multiple UK research organisations are involved, they must share this 30% maximum allocation.
